Chablis - hard to be without



Madame M welcomed us to the slightly flawed but very French (= French countryside) hotel in the heart of the city of Chablis. Cold as hell. The hotel room had a marvelous element from the beginning of the last century as we pushed us forward to get warm. Then we went to the pub with the locals. Successful evening with good food (broccolivelotée, veal and Burgundian cheeses and we had Chablis premier cru) and slept like logs at night in the freezing room with our fleece clothing. We awoke to roosters crowing in the morning when the market was opening. Wonderful food market with all that this area had to offer as live poultry, sausages, hams and cheeses and the double beds and stilettos for sale. Hard to go from there ...'
